In 2024, several significant changes have been made to the regulations on firearms permits, which are worth knowing before starting the procedure.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-rank-math-toc-block\" id=\"rank-math-toc\"><h4>Spis tre\u015bci<\/h4><nav><ul><li class=\"\"><a href=\"#h-kto-moze-ubiegac-sie-o-pozwolenie-na-bron\">Who can apply for a gun permit?<\/a><\/li><li class=\"\"><a href=\"#h-rodzaje-pozwolen-na-bron\">Types of gun permits<\/a><\/li><li class=\"\"><a href=\"#h-jak-uzyskac-pozwolenie-na-bron-w-2024-roku\">How to get a gun permit in 2024?<\/a><\/li><li class=\"\"><a href=\"#h-zmiany-w-przepisach-w-2024-roku\">Changes in regulations in 2024<\/a><\/li><li class=\"\"><a href=\"#h-koszty-uzyskania-pozwolenia-na-bron\">Costs of obtaining a firearms permit<\/a><\/li><li class=\"\"><a href=\"#h-bezpieczenstwo-i-odpowiedzialnosc\">Safety and responsibility<\/a><ul><li class=\"\"><a href=\"#h-podsumowanie\">Summary<\/a><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/nav><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-kto-moze-ubiegac-sie-o-pozwolenie-na-bron\"><strong>Who can apply for a gun permit?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To be able to apply for a firearms permit in Poland, you must meet a few basic conditions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>At least 21 years old:<\/strong> People under this age cannot legally own firearms.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Permanent residence in Poland:<\/strong> Registration for permanent residence in Poland is required.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>No health contraindications:<\/strong> It is necessary to obtain a positive medical and psychological certificate confirming the absence of contraindications to possession of a weapon.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>No criminal record:<\/strong> Persons convicted of intentional crimes, in particular violent crimes, cannot be granted a permit.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Knowledge of regulations and ability to use weapons:<\/strong> You must pass a state exam that tests your knowledge of gun law and practical skills.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-rodzaje-pozwolen-na-bron\"><strong>Types of gun permits<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In Poland, you can obtain a gun permit for various purposes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Permit for weapons for sports purposes:<\/strong> It allows you to have firearms designed for sports <a href=\"https:\/\/factoryformen.com\/en\/after-hours\/hobbies\/weapons-at-home-safety-or-threat-advantages-and-disadvantages\/\">shooting<\/a> .<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Permit for weapons for hunting purposes:<\/strong> Issued to hunters and allows the possession of hunting weapons.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Permit for weapons for collector&#8217;s purposes:<\/strong> It allows you to collect <a href=\"https:\/\/factoryformen.com\/en\/after-hours\/hobbies\/firearms-in-the-european-union-regulations-in-selected-countries\/\">firearms<\/a> of historical or collector&#8217;s value.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Gun permit for historical reenactment:<\/strong> It allows you to own firearms used in historical reenactments.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Gun permit for personal protection:<\/strong> Issued in exceptional situations when there is a real threat to life or health.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-jak-uzyskac-pozwolenie-na-bron-w-2024-roku\"><strong>How to get a gun permit in 2024?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The procedure for obtaining a firearms permit in 2024 is multi-stage:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Medical and psychological <a href=\"https:\/\/factoryformen.com\/en\/health\/health-after-30-what-tests-are-worth-doing\/\">examinations<\/a>:<\/strong> You should go to a doctor authorized to examine candidates for gun owners and to a psychologist who will issue appropriate certificates. <strong>Important:<\/strong> From 19 June 2024, new, simplified rules for these tests are in force.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Applying:<\/strong> An application for a firearms permit is submitted to the competent provincial commander of the Police. The application should be accompanied by: \n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Medical and psychological certificate.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Two photos.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proof of payment of stamp duty.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>State exam:<\/strong> After the application is approved, the candidate is sent to the state exam. It consists of a theoretical and practical part. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Issuance of the decision:<\/strong> After passing the exam, the provincial commander of the Police issues a decision on the issuance of a weapon permit.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-zmiany-w-przepisach-w-2024-roku\"><strong>Changes in regulations in 2024<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2024, several significant changes were made to the regulations on gun permits:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Simplified medical and psychological examinations:<\/strong> From 19 June 2024, new rules for testing are in force. They are aimed at streamlining and accelerating the process of obtaining certificates. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>New document templates:<\/strong> From October 2, 2024, provincial police commanders issue new public documents, including gun permits.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-koszty-uzyskania-pozwolenia-na-bron\"><strong>Costs of obtaining a firearms permit<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Obtaining a firearms permit involves certain costs:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Stamp duty for issuing the permit:<\/strong> PLN 242<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Cost of medical and psychological examinations:<\/strong> It depends on the price list of the facility where the tests are performed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>State exam fee:<\/strong> It is determined by the provincial commander of the Police.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-bezpieczenstwo-i-odpowiedzialnosc\"><strong>Safety and responsibility<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Owning a firearm is a big responsibility. The owner of the weapon is obliged to follow the safety rules and store the weapon in a way that prevents unauthorized access.
