An adventure in the heart of the Amazon
Paddington, Peru begins in London, where the Brown family are preparing for Aunt Lucy’s birthday. Paddington, wanting to give her a special gift, decides to find a magical pop-up book in Peru, which his aunt told him about. Together with the Browns, he sets off on a journey full of surprises to South America.
Film, Judy, Jonathan, Mary, and Henry end up at the Retired Bear House, where they meet an adorable bear named Taking. However, it soon turns out that the idyllic atmosphere of the place hides a secret. Paddington, along with a new friend, sets out to find the Inca treasure, and the entire Brown family is drawn into a whirlwind of unexpected events.
A change of director, but not of the atmosphere
“Paddington in Peru” is the first film in the series that was not directed by Paul King (the creator of the previous two parts). His place was taken by Dougal Wilson, known for directing music videos and commercials. Despite the change of director, the film retains the humor, warmth and charm characteristic of the series. Wilson skillfully continues the style of the previous parts, making sure that “Paddington in Peru” is consistent with the whole.
New characters, new challenges
In addition to the well-known and liked characters, new, colorful characters appear in the film. Among them we can find, m.in, the aforementioned bear Taker, who quickly becomes Paddington’s friend, and the anthropologist Wilkins, who will help the bears in their search for treasure.
The new characters bring freshness and dynamism to the film, and the relationships between them are the source of many funny situations.
